Rotating Magical Profile Song
The Rotating Magical Profile Song (RoMPS) was a feature I once included in my AIM and Facebook profiles. I would randomly upload and link to a song just for the hell of it, and to keep whoever was checking those profiles interested. It's a feature that has been in semi-retirement for a year but has recently been revived.

RoMPS primarily focuses on new and old video game music. It's stuff I like to listen to, and I listen to it alongside everything else in my library. People tend to dismiss VGM or consider it an inferior genre, when it's really just another form of medium. If you listen close enough and sample enough material, you can hear that it encompasses everything from classical to rap to rock. Even the old 8 and 16-bit soundtracks aspired to fit these genres, and in many respects, they succeeded. It's my hope that RoMPS will help to prove this, as well as entertain you, through the upcoming months.
Unless your browser or antivirus is blocking Flash content, you should see a player at the top of the page. Current songs are kept in a playlist and can be played from this page. The player is Flash 7 based, so it should work with the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and other Flash 7 devices. Songs can be downloaded by right-clicking the song title in the table above and choosing "Save Target as...". Clicking the
navigation arrow in the Flash player (or
in the table) will take you to a page displaying information about the song.
Songs are kept on the server for two months after their posting date. Songs are given a "last call" one week before deletion and are marked accordingly in the table above. Records of older songs are kept in an archive, as well as their respective info pages. Song information is displayed in the table above and contained in the song's metadata tags. Filenames are kept ambiguous (romps0001.mp3, romps0002.mp3, etc.) for organizational purposes.
